Back in the saddle

Howdy, folks. Eboshi is going back into my regular development rotation, so we'll start seeing some improvements again! First up is an infrastructure upgrade to Rails 3 today, so please let me know if you notice anything not working as it should.

Feature: Summaries and Breakdown

You might notice a new addition to your sidebar: a table with the hours worked and the money earned this year, month, week, and day. Following the details link will bring you to an (ugly!) table where you can see the current month in more detail, and even go back in time!

This feature is the first steps towards generating reports for tax purposes and et cetera. What other information would you like to see?

OH EM GEE, EBOSHI CAN HAZ MATH

Some of you may have noticed your client balances were incorrect. No longer! Additionally, this bugfix has yielded an unexpected 'feature': If you delete an invoice, its line items will show back up in your main screen, unassigned. Let me know if this 'feature' should be considered a 'bug'... some might find it useful!

Bugfix: Works in Safari, Chrome!

Tracked down a nasty little bug that prevented Eboshi from working correctly in Safari and Chrome. If you have previously tried to use Eboshi in those browsers, try again! Firefox is still the only officially supported browser, though, so I recommend you use that.

Feature: format your notes with Textile!

Hey kids! I figured I'd start a blog to increase communication between me, the developer, and y'all, the users.

Anyhow, first up is a new feature, requested by Chris Hackett, but improved, immeasurably, by your humble servant, myself... you can format your notes with Textile!
  • *bold* turns into bold
  • _italic_ turns into italic
  • line breaks actually show up on the invoice!
  • and oh so much more... [here's a full reference]
Let me know what y'all think by commenting here, or emailing me.
